WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL INTERNAL MEDICINE?

But, in summary, Functional Internal Medicine is a model of investigating and treating common internal medicine conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, thyroid disease, coronary artery disease, gastrointestinal or psychiatric diseases from a functional approach. The functional medicine model seeks out the root cause of the illness, attempts to understand the circumstances that led to that disease process. After we understand the cause, we can then use a multi-modality, personalized approach to eradicate the disease, not simply manage it.

Our availability is based on scheduling. However, if there is a way to get you in the same day or next day we will strive to do it.

ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY MY INSURANCE?

We do not accept any form of insurance. Integra is classified as a functional and integrative medicine practice, but insurance companies don’t cover our treatment model. After each medical visit, we can provide a superbill that you can submit to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Many members choose to pay for their consultations using FSA/HSA dollars.
